Crazy
Sock Spirit Day!:
The 4th grade
will be holding their next school wide Spirit Day next Wednesday, January 11! This Spirit Day’s theme will be crazy socks.
The 4th graders will then be using your results to make pictographs!
Remember, the class with the most participants gets the “School Spirit” ribbon
hung outside their door for the month. Help your class, and the 4th
grade, and don’t forget your Crazy Socks on Wednesday!
Applied
Technology: The second and third graders used different functions in map websites
this week. The
students were able to go from maps to a satellite view and then recognized many
different landforms. Along with seeing many different buildings, the students
recognized their school and some were able to find their homes. If you have
never seen a satellite view of an area of land, take a look at these websites. (Please
Note: Other links, ads and websites can bring you anywhere online. Please take
time to assist your children when using the internet.) http://www.mapquest.com http://maps.google.com
Solar
Sprints: Those six graders interested in applying for the Solar Sprints club
should turn in their application at the beginning of next week. If you need a
form see Miss Conry or Mr. Iradi. Beginning in two weeks, the club will meet every
Thursday through May. This is a great opportunity to learn more about solar
energy, mechanical engineering and design.
pre-school
news: HAPPY WINTER! The preschoolers came back to school with smiles on their
faces, along with exciting stories about their holiday adventures that they
enjoyed sharing with their friends. The children are happy to be back at school
learning about the winter season, new songs and dances, and reading great
stories. Our class bear, Buddy Bear, is ready for his long winter nap. The
children will learn about animals that hibernate along with saying good night
to our cuddly friend. See you in the spring Buddy Bear!
Library
