The Kindergarten classes have been busy getting ready for Native American Day on November 21. They are learning about the culture of Native Americans, making Indian vests, drums, necklaces and headbands. They also learned about Veteran’s Day. Third Grade Math News

Graphing, telling time, and money are all math concepts that the third grade students have been working on. Our recent “pumpkin math” unit helped the students learn how to collect data, make charts, and create graphs of the information gathered. Children worked in small groups to answer elapsed time questions using clocks, while others learned how to read t.v. guides and schedules. All students enjoyed making edible jewelry with fruit loops to practice creating a receipt and adding amounts of money. All of these hands-on lessons helped us to practice these math concepts and have fun, too!

6th Grade trip to Washington D.C/Baltimore

Sixth graders got up early to make the 5:30 am bus trip on Monday, November 3. All students were on the bus and ready to go with several teachers and parents. Three fun-filled and educational days were spent in our nation’s capital and in Baltimore, MD. The group was lucky enough to be in Washington, DC on Election Day! Mrs. Ciccolella, Miss Conry and Mrs. Estock would like to thank all of the students for being so well-behaved.
